Yes, most individuals with Fibrocystic Disease will be able to qualify for traditional life insurance, the type of insurance which requires a medical exam.

But you won’t be able to get this rating through your auto insurance company.

Best Case Scenario – If Fibrocystic Disease is diagnosed to be benign and non-progressive then it can get the best rating at “Standard”. This, however, needs to be established by a medical evaluation and any diagnostic available such as a mammogram or MRI. Click here for quote at “Standard”.

You may have difficulty qualifying for traditional coverage, but could be eligible for a graded death benefit policy.

If you’re unsure whether you will qualify for a Standard rating, please see the questions below:

How many years have you been diagnosed with Fibrocystic Disease?
The earlier your Fibrocystic Disease is diagnosed and treated, the chances of getting a “Standard” rating is very high. You just need to have the necessary papers to show it like a biopsy result.

Have you observed any symptoms within the last six months?
Symptoms of recurrence of the fibrocystic growths may be flare signs of a malignancy. If this is the case then you should have another examination and diagnostic test to prove otherwise.

Do you have a family history of breast cancer?
A history of cancer in the family may require you for a more thorough medical evaluation and additional diagnostic examination.

If you don’t seem to fit into one of the ratings above, I recommend requesting life insurance quotes from “standard” to “severe standard” so you understand the range of possibilities.

How to Get a Quote

Using the Instant Life Insurance Quote form on the right, select the rating class that best suits you based on your answers to the questions above, as well as complete the amount and type of coverage needed.

An estimate will appear on the next page.

Overview of Fibrocystic Disease

Fibrocystic Disease, also known as fibrocystic breast is a condition characterized by a noncancerous growth in the breast. It affects the tissues and is generally influenced by the hormonal changes in the menstrual cycle.

The symptoms of the disease include presence of lumps or cobble-like growths in the breast. The cystic growths are smooth with easily palpable edges and are moveable. Individuals with fibrocystic breast often complain of tolerable, but bothersome pain especially before the menstrual period. Nipples and breasts may also sometimes feel itchy.

Diagnosis for Fibrocystic Disease can be done through a simple clinical breast examination. If there are doubts, a biopsy, mammogram, ultrasound or MRI may confirm the growth whether it is benign or malignant.

Usually, fibrocystic breast cases do not require any treatment, but for those with bothersome pain, progesterone replacements or ointments may be given. Still in other cases, surgery to remove the fibrocystic growth may be done.
